Suzanne
Desrochers is from Lafontaine, a
French-Canadian village on the shores of Georgian
Bay in
Ontario. Her first
novel, about a Fille du roi
of seventeenth-century New France, has been accepted for
fall 2010 publication by Penguin
Canada. In 2007, she
completed an MA at YorkUniversity
in Creative
Writing and History. In 2006, she
participated in the HumberSchool
for Writers summer workshop in
Toronto and has since remained involved with the community of writers
she met there.
Her writing has previously been published
in Tokyo
andNOW
Magazine in Toronto. She was
an
editor for the society section of the online journal le
Panoptique. She lived for
three years in Saitama,
Japan and for a semester in Paris on a graduate exchange at the
Sorbonne. In fall 2009, she will begin
research towards a History PhD at King's College London, UK. She
currently resides in Toronto
with
her
husband, their son and cat.
